Pumpkin Carving & Grammy and Papa visit

As it turned out this year, October 29th felt like February. Grammy and Papa came up for a short visit and I had the bright idea to go to the Scholastic Flagship store in SoHo. NOT a good idea on this day. We trekked down on the bus (because a cab wouldn't take all of us?!?!) and it was raining pretty hard. After a 30 or so minute bus ride, we got out into full on snow and crazy wind. We decided to stop for lunch first, because the store was about a 10 min walk. My boys ate like they normally do, like we don't ever feed them. And, they finished it off with cupcakes…yummmmmmmy.

We started walking, but it was just brutally cold. And, we weren't really prepared. My phone said it felt like 27 out, but with the wind, I think it felt like 0. It was cold. And we were all wet-especially Andrew with his pants. So, we caught a cab home and a few people got changed and napped. Grammy stayed pretty busy with Andrew. Chris and I even got to go on our first date since living in the city! A wonderful French Bistro Quatorze Bi, that is only about 100 feet away. Thanks Grammy and Papa!

We then decided that we better carve our pumpkin before Chris left for Denver, so we got busy with that.

Hopefully I can get both boys into costume tomorrow for some cute pictures! Andrew is definitely ready to trick or treat!! We got to Skype with Evan and Tracy and then Andrew finished off his day doing his "homework." You can tell he didn't want me to bother him.
