Traveling North, Portland Head Light, Pemaquid & Doubling Light House

We ventured north on Friday hoping to make it to Portland. We stopped for the night at a hotel and the boys got to swim at 10pm (in hopes of wearing them out….it didn't work). We woke up and set out to see the sights! We started by stopping at Cape Elizabeth and Fort Williams. This was an amazing way to start the journey of beauty up the Maine coast. Absolutely breathtaking. 

               Fort Williams was a military asset during WWII. A very cool structure remains.

Pemaquid Point Lighthouse was another stop on the trip. I am pretty sure the boys could have played all day on the rocks and this was just a precursor to the fun they would have once we got to Bar Harbor!

I got to go up in the Pemaquid Lighthouse. It was VERY small but a great view.

Happy as can be out of the ergo!

            Some good eats at Shaws-crab cakes and lobster rolls. Ryan's little head is in there..

We made a quick detour to Doubling Point Lighthouse. It was small and almost looked like it was in someones back yard.

We drove through Freeport so I could go into the LL Bean Flagship store. It was sooo big it was overwhelming.

This was a really cool suspension bridge we went over as we got closer to Bar Harbor.
