Down and Dirty Mud Run

We headed up to the Bronx for our Down and Dirty 5k Mud Run. One of our babysitters Jess came with us because someone had to watch the kids while Chris and I ran!

Our before pictures, and Chris and Andrew repping out some pushups to warm up!
Our after. It was a good course with about 15 or so obstacles. We ran about a mile to start, hit some climbing walls, tunnels, cargo nets, pool of COLD water, another climbing wall, mud crawl, then another mile run with wet soggy shoes through the woods. We had to jump a few walls in the woods, climb a wall, and then wade through the ocean. The last few were a rope climb without legs and a serious mud pit you will see in pictures with Andrew. This mud run was much better than the one I did a few years ago because you got to run some of it BEFORE your shoes were so soggy.
Chris dove right into the mud-yuuuuuummmmy

Snuggling with the non runner
Andrew and his friend Jasper did the kids adventure fun run. It was VERY short, but cute for the little kids.
Andrew did say 1/2 way through the mud, "there is MUD in my SHOES!!!" Well….

Julian completely missed his AM nap, then fell asleep like this in my lap. Poor fella
Here are some pictures of the actual kids run and the mud pit
You were supposed to crawl through, not walk, but not Andrew!

So, I had read that an adult "could accompany the child." Apparently an adult HAD to. Chris and I had already rinsed off so he just walked through with the boys. Props to Daddy!

Ready for the next one! Or maybe the 10k up next!!
