The one thing about living in the city and not driving, is that things that are technically only 5 miles away, take, oh…60 minutes. We caught the train down, switched trains, walked to the ferry, ferried over, and were finally there!! There was special art festival called Figment. It was awesome.
Here we got to make a boat out of driftwood that had been collected out of the harbor. Andrew's idea was pretty good and came out super cute. He and Chris named it "two sons."
There were sculptures, musicians, paintings you could add to, etc.., etc…Lots of food and ice cream of course too. And lots of weird things too….like this man
Playing the drums and ringing the bells
I couldn't resist…I think I may get hats and pants for Chris and I when we go on our anniversary trip
This was a really cool styrofoam pit. This would be an awesome thing to put in our basement and let them act like wild banshees! They would get a running start and basically bounce over it!
This is cool but would really gross me out to get in these things after how sweaty everyone was-
The island itself was beautiful. A castle we walked through, tons of trees and shade. Almost felt like you weren't in NYC. You can rent bikes or bring your bike over-maybe next year! We would love to head back next year with the boys being a little older so we could enjoy more and spend more time. We didn't have a stroller and had two tired walkers. Definitely a fun day trip!
