Sleep No More

A few months ago we bought tickets for a show called Sleep No More.  It looked like a really interesting, mysterious date night.  We really didn't know what to expect going in. And, coming out, we really don't know what we saw either!
It is a very different type of theater experience. On the website it says, the legendary space is reinvented with SLEEP NO MORE, presenting Shakespeare’s classic Scottish tragedy through the lens of suspenseful film noir. Audiences move freely through a transporting world at their own pace, choosing their own path through the story, immersed in the most unique theatrical experience in the history of New York."
When we walked in, we were handed these mask (Andrew modeled for me). You had to wear these the entire time without talking. You wander through different rooms waiting for actors to run into the room and act out a scene, and then you try to follow them so you can catch a different scene. It was very interesting (and quite a workout because you are running up and down 5 stories), but we never quite got the entire story (which I don't think they necessarily want you to).  They try to sell you a book at the end summarizing what you saw, but we didn't get it.
I think it was a great date night, mainly because we got to go out and check out a new area of Manhattan, but I don't know if I would recommend it for the price. Then again, there aren't many things in New York that are reasonably priced! Thanks Cady for watching the boys!
