Things I have learned in my first week while living in the Big Apple

1. Sometimes, you just let your kids have treats…EVERYDAY

2. Must buy car bumper protector for NYC garages
3. Always carry a towel and change of clothes if you plan to take children to the park (aka sprinkler system central in the summer)

4. ALWAYS check traffic and Yankee schedule before you decide to depart to New Jersey for a new couch (since your current one doesn't fit in the apartment elevator).
5. Amazon will become my best friend.
6. People really don't eat in their own apartments…EVER.  After cooking one dinner in our "large" kitchen, I understand why.
7. Whether or not there is a $350 fine for honking DOES NOT matter to trash truck drivers at 530am.
8. $90 worth of groceries is way to much to carry home with two small children, a diaper bag and a stroller.
9. Whenever you think you don't have much stuff, you are wrong.
10.  Kids really don't care about the size of your house. Whats important is that you are there.

    So Dorothy, Not in Kansas anymore? LOVE the pictures! So the trade-off for having the world at your door is a campsite sized kitchen and a really cozy sofa? Enjoy the adventure

    You will have it all figured out in another week. You are a quick learner, plus you have an amazing sense of adventure! All sounds like fun to me. The going out to eat works for me.

    This is great! I see Ryan is standing and walking on his own, he's grown so much in a few weeks.

    Love the horn comment. I have a picture of a 'No Honking-$350 Fine' sign in the midst of everyone in the intersection honking away.
